"The fish reminded me of good ol fried fish I grew up on. The crust was cornmeal, not flour. The small strips of fish were crispy yet moist. The pic was taken after eating a small portion. There is plenty of food for the price. The only thing to note. Bring cash, In God We Trust, CC nor Debit accepted."

"I was told by my realtor when we bought a house in Scottsville to try this restaurant. She is from TN and her friends drive all the way here for their catfish. I understand why because the catfish is amazing! I had never had catfish before and it was just the most pleasant experience. Thank you so much!"

"There are restaurants that are the "go to" spots for certain foods and this is that place for catfish. Hands down, the best catfish I've had. We drive from Bowling Green just to pick up a to go order on occasion. The folks are very friendly and the feel is nostalgic if you are dining in. It is truly one of those "old country" places and one of a kind. Amazing other than a couple of critiques: please, please start taking credit/debit cards even if you have to upcharge the customer to pay for the expense. The parking lot could also use a LOT of work. Other than those 2 things this place is awesome if you have a catfish hankerin'."

"Great food, the frog legs were perfect, the catfish was soooo good that I didn't even need tater sauce. Prices very reasonable. Staff so friendly. Worth drive from Nashville."

"It's one of those legendary hole-in-the-wall places everyone likes to talk about: Gravel parking lot, faded sign over the door, cheap wood paneling, but GREAT all you can eat catfish. The catfish comes in 4 inch strips, lightly breaded, seasoned and fried, not greasy at all and very very tasty. It's an all you can eat deal, but I'm a pretty big eater and I never get past the first giant pile of catfish they bring you. It comes with hush puppies and 2 sides. The hush puppies are a little hard and crunchy for my taste, but all of the sides I've had there are very good. Most of the locals rave about the coleslaw, which is fresh and as good or better than KFC's. I had a baked potato this time- baked just right and served with half a stick of butter. All delicious, and the price is incredibly reasonable, too. Service is decent even when they're busy."

"Harper’s Catfish is a gem and local place in Scottsville. It’s been family owned and operated since 1978 and is where everyone comes to eat! They serve up delicious fresh catfish, hushpuppies, fries, steaks, sandwiches and other seafood. All of it is made fresh to order and they offer AYCE options as well. We each got their Adult Fish Plate which is AYCE fish served with slaw, hushpuppies and fries. We chose the catfish which was deliciously light, perfectly fried, and nicely seasoned. The fries were crispy and piping hot! The restaurant itself is a place charmingly stuck in time. The decor hasn’t changed since the 70s and they only accept cash or cheques — no debit or credit transactions. If you’re ever in Scottsville, I’d highly recommend dropping by this place for a hearty meal among locals, in a place that’ll take you back in time."

"Good meal and worth the drive. The place could stand to be spruced up some. Gravel on the drive and parking lot would help. And not packing people so tight would help the experience. But the catfish was very good."

"This is the best catfish I have ever had it my life! And I have tried catfish at dozens of restaurants. It was always a muddy taste. Not Harpers! So fresh and clean and you actually taste the delicious fish!"
